Joanne Elizabeth Foor, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great- great grandmother, and cherished friend passed away on July 5, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on January 21, 1938, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Joanne was the daughter of Charles and Emma Fletcher.

Joanne was a woman of strength and enduring love. She was compassionate and resilient. She graduated from Lawrence County Votech College and pursued a career in nursing, a profession that spoke to her dedication to caring for others. Joanne worked tirelessly as an LPN until her well-deserved retirement in 2013.

Joanne was known for her stern, but caring attitude. She was commonly referred to as “Grandma” by most who knew her. She was a fan of Mickey and Minnie Mouse and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles or a quiet game of solitaire on her computer.
Joanne also loved the simple pleasures of life, spending what little spare time she had tending to her yard and working on her “tractor”.

Joanne is survived by her children, Robert Downs, Cinthia Downs, Nancy Bauer, 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emma Fletcher, brother William Fletcher, sisters Emma Adams,Alice Donaldson, daughter Susan Downs, son Wesley Downs, great granddaughter Jadaymah Waller, and great-great granddaughter Avery Downs.

Joanne Elizabeth Foor's life was a testament of unwavering dedication to those she cared about. Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of her loved ones.
