In Loving Memory of James Joseph Taylor

James Joseph Taylor, 78, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on December 25, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during a historic blizzard, James entered the world with the same strength and resilience that would define his life. He was the beloved son of the late Joseph A. Taylor and Rita McHugh Taylor.

James proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War. His military service reflected his deep sense of duty, honor, and patriotism—qualities he carried with him throughout his life.

An avid outdoorsman, James found great joy in hunting, fishing, and camping. Whether in the woods, on the water, or around a campfire, he cherished the peace of nature and the memories made with family and friends before illness limited the activities he loved.

Above all, James was a devoted husband and family man. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Tiare Nicholson Taylor; his sister, Rita Gillespie of Pennsylvania; his daughter, Rochelle Dorsey, of Cumming, Georgia; his son, Joshua J. Taylor and his wife, Kimberly, of Daphne, Alabama; his grandson, Evan J. Dorsey; and his great-grandson, James E. Dorsey, of Statesboro, Georgia. His love, guidance, and unwavering support will remain in their hearts forever.

James faced his battle with cancer with remarkable courage and determination. Though his earthly journey has ended, his legacy of strength, service, love, and perseverance will continue to inspire all who knew him.

He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

"God has chosen another warrior for the battle for light." While we mourn his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his fight is over, his pain has ended, and he rests in eternal peace.

May James Joseph Taylor's memory be a blessing, and may his legacy live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
