Emerson Buck Bragg

It is with a heavy heart and deep love we announce the passing of Emerson Buck Bragg. A devoted father, grandfather and friend, who passed away at the age of 95 on June 5, 2026.

We rejoice that he is now in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

Emerson was born in Millen, Georgia, and built a life rooted in family, honesty and hard work.

Emerson will be remembered for his love of canning vegetables, shelling pecans, baking pound cakes, as well as making his icebox fruit cake at Christmas each year that he shared with family and friends. He was always ready for a good Low Country boil with his family.

Emerson worked hard his whole life with 20 years of service at Thompson Company of Millen, GA. He served 15 years at King America Finishing of Screven County and 15 years with Counts Transportation in Sylvania, GA.

Emerson was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Martha Jeanette Bragg, and a stepdaughter, Vickie Lynn Durden.

He is survived by his daughters, Martha Jo Davis (Lee), of Statesboro, GA, Cynthia Pauline Counts of Sylvania, GA, Lisa Anne Taylor (Don) of Portal, GA, and a brother, Willie J. (Bill) Bragg of El Paso, TX. Grandchildren, Josh Horton, Joy Horton, Karla Horton, Jeremy Lee Davis, Jordan Emerson Davis, Mark Bragg, Brittany Counts and five great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Also, a dear friend that was close to his heart, Jerry Jenkins.

Private services will be held at Bulloch Memorial Gardens on Monday, June 8th at 3:00 pm with his son-in-law Lee Davis officiating.
