Preceded in death by her parents August and Hilda Zamminer, Husband Martin George Blaes, Brother-in-law Charles Thomas Papenhausen, Sister Joyce Vera Papenhausen.
Survived by her brother William Zamminer, Niece Joyceann M. Squires (John Dewey), Nephew Charles T. Papenhausen II (Francis Rose), Great Nephew Martin J. Blaes Jr. (Sabrina E.), Great Niece Angel M.Blaes-Dyches, Great Niece Dana N. Papenhausen, Great Nephew Bradley C. Papenhausen, and Great Great Nieces and Nephews Martin Jay Blaes III, Alexis Savannah Blaes, Kyra Brooke Dyches, Silas Roy Bryson, Ansley Graces Squires, to whom she was affectionately known as "Grandma Liz."
In her younger years Elizabeth worked in the Manhattan clothing district as well as being a switch board operator. She later worked as a food service worker in the family owned grocery store/delicatessen, "Bill's Delicatessen."
Elizabeth sacrificed her youth to help raise her niece and nephew after their father died while their mother worked. On October 26, 1974 she married her husband, Martin George, and moved to New Hampshire, where she worked on an assembly line and as a sales clerk.
Elizabeth was an avid animal lover. She supported many shelters and rescues, as well as being a member of the ASPCA.
Elizabeth lived with several chronic conditions. She passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning, August 9, 2026, under the in-home care of Ogeechee Area Hospice and All Ways Caring Home Care. Special thanks go out to Cortney, Jamie, Liz, Jarissa, Savannah, Rami, and Savannah Reid for the love, care, and laughter they brought to her each and every visit.
Elizabeth loved the Lord and was a member of New Hope Global Methodist Church.
