Dorothy “Dot” Flanders Prosser

Dorothy Flanders Prosser, age 99, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026. She was born on November 5, 1926, to Aden and Idell Flanders and was a lifelong resident of the Statesboro community. 

Dot was a graduate of Statesboro High School, Class of 1943. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Statesboro and was also a member of the Pilot Club. Dot was known for her warm heart, strong work ethic, and love for the people and community around her.

She shared 66 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jacob Mooney Prosser, until his passing. Together, they built a life filled with family, friendship, travel, and many cherished memories.

Dot had many interests throughout her life. She loved her mountain home and looked forward to the time she spent there. She enjoyed needlepoint, working, and playing golf during her younger years. She also loved to travel and especially treasured playing cards with her friends. Above all, Dot cherished spending time with her family and the memories they made together.

In addition to her husband, Mooney, Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Aden and Idell Flanders; her brother, Donald Flanders; her sisters, C. E. Sherouse and Emma Jean Williams; and her son, James Craig Prosser.

She is survived by her son, Michael Wade Prosser (Deborah); her granddaughter, Emily Dawn Prosser (Travis); and other family and friends who will forever cherish the memories of her.

Dot leaves behind a legacy of love, family, friendship, and a life well lived. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at Bulloch Funeral Care and Cremation. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M., with burial to follow at Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family is requested for donations to go to Ogeechee Area Hospice

All services are in the care of Bulloch Funeral Care and Cremation.
