Obituary

Andrew Martin “Andy” Spahos

Andrew Martin “Andy” Spahos, 73, passed away on August 4, 2026. Born on October 1, 1952,

in Savannah, Georgia, Andy lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and a genuine love for

people.

Andy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 30 years, the love of his life, who

passed away on the same day as he did. Their bond was one of deep devotion and enduring

love, and they are now reunited. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Rhys

Eddins of California, and Barbara Barnhart of Savannah, Georgia.

Andy was the son of Johnny and Mary Spahos. He was a devoted father to his son, Johnny

Spahos, and his daughters, Melanie Bly and Hope Bailey he was a proud grandfather to eight

grandchildren, all of whom brought him tremendous joy. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary

Ann Harrison and Jennifer Cole, as well as several beloved nieces and nephews who will

cherish his memory.

A master welder and general contractor, Andy was respected for his craftsmanship, strong work

ethic, and willingness to help others. Whether he was building, repairing, or creating something

with his hands, he took pride in a job well done.

Outside of work, Andy found his greatest happiness in the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing,

and spending time in nature. He was also an exceptional cook who found great joy in preparing

meals and sharing them with family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to gather around his

table. Feeding people was one of the many ways he expressed his love.

Perhaps Andy’s greatest gift was his caring heart. He had a special place in his heart for senior

citizens and was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer companionship, or brighten

someone’s day. His kindness, generosity, and selfless spirit touched many lives and will be

remembered by all who knew him.

Andy will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone whose lives were enriched by

his warmth, humor, and unwavering willingness to help others. His legacy of love, compassion,

and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

May he rest in eternal peace.
